ABOUT LOUISE ROBINSON

Food Stylist, Photographer, Recipe & Content Creator

I have always loved food in all its guises, from street food to fine dining and experimenting with ingredients in my own kitchen, cooking recipes old and new.

Cygnet Kitchen started out as an idea, one dark drizzly day in October 2014. I had moved from London the previous year, back to the countryside of my childhood. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city and my previous life as a fashion accessories designer, I found myself longing for another creative outlet.

There was a natural inclination to write about my favourite dishes, so I decided to start a food blog. The name came from my cosy 16th century cottage, nestled in one the most picturesque villages in East Sussex.

Over the past 10 years Cygnet Kitchen has evolved to become a full time business, specialising in food styling and photography, recipe and content creation.

Louise Robinson - Food stylist & photographer

“In a world full of visual social content, creating online customer engagement is an increasingly difficult nut to crack. For online companies such as mine my brand identity is forged by the choice of it’s visual association. Behind the scenes in most businesses is hard work, passion and dedication, but when there is no physical doorway for customers to walk-through and be greeted with a smile, you better make sure your online window frame is sparkly and polished.

My entire website visuals, with some temporary exceptions, have been styled and photographed by Louise. We discuss a brief and she always exceeds my expectations upon delivery, so much so, I have to make damn sure that the product and the level of service I am offering mirror the quality of her work. When most of my customers come to me, they can see we are serious about the products that we offer. There are only two things that point to that online, clear and descriptive content and beautiful, stylish, well thought out images. The latter I am happy to say, with thanks to Louise and her only, we have in abundance.

—FINE AND WILD

Louise has fast become a go-to person for me in terms of recipe development, both for client projects and our own content needs. Her stunning photography makes every dish a real draw for our users, all backed up with brilliant, well-researched recipes. Her culinary curiosity means she is happy to rise to any challenge, be it developing simple recipes for classic cakes or niche noodle dishes from Korea.

One of the best things about working with Louise is her amazing attitude and professionalism. When I commission from Louise, I have no concerns about the outcome – she will provide the highest standard of work every time, without fail.

GREAT BRITISH CHEFS

Working with Louise has been an absolute pleasure. She understands briefs and works to represent a brand with care and attention to detail, which has been vital for us in growing authentic relationships. She works to deadlines and is professional and understanding, with this we have been able to establish a fantastic working relationship, which is still ongoing today.

— ROBERT WELCH

I have worked with Louise both in 2014 and 2018 and, each time, she was a pleasure to work with. Direct and diligent with briefs, she asks the questions she needs to deliver something thorough, with integrity and – ultimately – very beautiful. She always delivers above expectations and one of my favourite things about working with her is that she doesn’t hesitate to pick up the phone and call if she needs something, and we invariably end up having a lovely chat, too.

— JING TEA

I cannot recommend Louise highly enough. I have been working with her over the last few months and from the outset she understood my vision and was able to effortlessly translate that into her photography. Commissioned for both website and social media shots, her work has beautifully elevated my brand and generated sales growth. Louise is extremely reliable and personable, an absolute pleasure to work with.

— THACKRAY BROWN

Louise has produced some really stunning photographs for The Happy Foodie. She is a pleasure to work with: thorough, conscientious, thoughtful and creative. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking to produce beautifully styled and shot food photographs.

— THE HAPPY FOODIE, PENGUIN RANDOM HOUSE

We've been working with Louise since the summer and she has been creating content for our trade website and social media. We rarely give Louise a brief to work to as she knows our product so well and gets the perfect shot each time. Her imagination and styling technique works wonders with our product, she managed to fit our project into her busy schedule and always delivers beautiful photos.

— SURREY CERAMICS

Louise is wonderfully creative and easy to work with. She is responsive, provides updates, suggests ideas, and delivers everything to the brief laid out for her. Her work always stays true to her personal brand, but equally adapts to the brand aesthetic and ethos that she is working with. I've known Louise to work with a few brands, and each person I speak with equally feels the same, and would recommend collaborating with her.

— BROCKMAN’S GIN

Louise is a pleasure to work with. I worked with her on a couple of projects for 2 food brands and Louise developed some wonderful recipe content for us. The photography was really nicely shot and everything was delivered on time and with ease. Thank you.
